Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Who will replace Wirth and why?

We had a similar 'replace the CEO' post a few years back, let's see what people think now.

My money is on BK or AW. Just watch. Both have moved to the favorites list.

Eimear spoke the most at the townhall, so, my bets would be on the West World robot, if not her, then external. Anyone with any amount of pennies in the bank can see Mark is an empty suit and shallow and one dimensional. But as he said, he has a great golf score.

PB is the biggest narcissist and bully you will come across. Tough to learn when you are “the smartest person” in the room. Absolutely the worst leader I ever came across1

SR is a ghost town.

Getting interesting……hearing SR is moving to Houston through a friend who works for the company who is transacting with Chevron. Wow…….I’m also thinking that this is going to make it that much easier for a major org shakeup up and leadership shake up given this move will be the “explanation” to do so given we are just off the heels of Transformation and folks are not going to like big changes. Likely to see something come out of this that makes it more clear who MW is thinking about for his successor given how he changes the org and who he anoints to lead certain parts of it.

Word is leaking out that SG is FINALLY retiring and JP from BD is retiring and they were recognized at a dinner JJ hosted earlier this week. Announcements coming next week….sounds like more dominos about to fall……some of these may give a clue on future replacements of JJ and MW…….

RJM will not be the one any time soon.

@Kamala RJM checks all the boxes but one..........which is knowing anything about the oil business.

Whoever it is going to be, it will definitely be someone already in Houston or willing to move to Houston

Who will replace Wirth as CEO someday? Surely another straight white male. That much is 100% guaranteed.

What would be great would be to have every executive leader receive feedback and CES ratings from the workforce each year to make it real on how poor these folks lead from the top…..completely disillusioned up in the over paid ivory tower…..

When you get to be a fly on the wall and sit in on some of the executive leaders’ meetings, you begin to realize your expectations of those at the top were over inflated…….

@2rto exactly! I was thinking the same thing - how is the same management team going to do anything different post transformation?

Having worked around a few of these guys, many are goofs. They all think their s*** dont stink and they can just bark and things happen. It was most damning when we heard during
2020 how we needed to change to get more competitive and then they chose all the same dudes at the top. Huh? If a company needs to change then start at the top and you have a chance for changes.

JG should not be considered as a choice. Worked around him and was not impressed!!

PB is an easy choice. He knows the business and comes off well!

JG is getting stuff done in CNE.

Based on the succession plan footprints to-date, it will be JG. He is being groomed as we speak.

PB is the most likely. Dont sleep on MN from downstream as he is MW's BFF. They are like 2 peas in a pod.

There is another candidate being groomed, NH. But feels like he needs to get 1 more job. Maybe he replaces PB after a short run.

BOD did a poor job of holding the prior and current CEOs accountable to ensure several strong candidates were positioned………no one looks like a “strong” successor…….

Lol, he’s not going anywhere for a while. Cramer has him on speed dial and Buffet just bet 26 billion on us. He’s a Wall Street darling. He’ll ride the wave to his official retirement, then pop up on CNBC as an industry expert in the mornings.

Frankly, nobody knows. I'd bet on PB but it'd be a weak bet.

PB will be 60 when MW retires - 5 years too old to start the job. He was actually passed over, for good reason, when MW was selected.

PB is the best option but would be a short tenure. EB needs to get polished and more experience, but will get there.
