I read that letter from that gentleman. It was a shame how he was treated. 100% racism and hatred. The employees are suppose to be reflective of our consumers, yet if a manager doesn't like you - you get passed over for a job, forced to leave. That experience is just one that was kept under the rug. There are so many more. It is disgusting how C-Suite and HR look down on all people. Someone was let go set up by an HR rep putting in a speak up note - yet we all know speak up submissions are discussed with the SVP and HR and THEY decide if someone gets fired. So the folks who cause bias, harrassment, and racism are the ones reviewing whether or not your speak up submission is valid????

Curious to know if the employee posted this or was it a friend/colleague? Typically, if a minority raises a question or allegation in this day and age at Pepsi, it is investigated and an outcome is quicky yielded. How all these numerous allegations were ignored or unfounded is beyond me. Maybe his claims fell on the wrong ears. If he was held back based on tattoos & dreads, shame on them. If Kendrick was good enough for the SB Halftime show, this employee was good enough to market or deliver sodas (unless he was missing critical for his target position aka education). Can you use Group Legal to sue your own employer? Asking for a friend.

He resigned. Guess he was just getting this off his chest?! Is he looking for a lawsuit? Or just exposing the evil doings that get shrugged off? I never once have witnessed anyone being held back, gaslighted, discriminated, bullied, etc. because of their race, religion, se-ual orientation, only because of their work performance or integrity. If a private company wants a person to look a certain way for a certain position, that's their business.

Sounds like a clear cut case of racism to me, I hope PepsiCo pays him off big time to make this disappear. They have done it before.

Stop making this about appearance. Most Frontline jobs will allow you to look any kind of way as long as you get the job done at Big Blue. Sups, mgrs and other white color jobs tend to press for a neater appearance, However, I have seen p3psi managers wearing dreads and a tie.
Probably didn't get the marketing job he wanted because he lacked a college degree. Most positions in the corporate world require at least some higher education requirement than a high school diploma. I didn't see any mention of him having a degree or even working on one. Sadly, all the talent, experience, accolades and awards will not be enough to get the position in most cases It was a rookie move to share the marketing idea without getting it in writing.

Sounds like he wanted to be in marketing and because he didn’t have the qualifications he is making this an issue of race. I’m sorry but that’s just plain entitlement.

I myself would like to join marketing. The marketing team at this company requires a masters degree. I am going to achieve that qualification so that I can have a shot on that team. It’s really that simple.

Its no different than catering to the pronoun crowd and then when you fill out your health insurance form there are only 2 boxes to check!! I hope BLM is having a good time in their mansions that PepsiCo bought for them with the social justice donations while this guy gets railroaded!!
