Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Fired for conversion

One of our key holders was fired today fir not making the conversion goal firing her shifts. She was the only one out there working with us trying to make it happen. The SM and the other keys just walk around and look at everything telling the other two of us to work faster. I’m done with this place.

Back when we could do our own ordering and feature what we wanted I always ordered into large displays of vacuums and cleaning products for Mother’s Day!

the mypillow thing is just annoying at this point; first, it was constantly returned because they are lousy pillows. secondly, we would have stopped carrying it by now anyways! in case anyone hasn't noticed, we don't really do as seen on tv anymore, it's all our owned brand garbage nobody wants, even when it's on sale for mother's day, lol

and being fired for conversion sounds like they needed to trim some salary, i don't think anyone meets conversion anywhere so it's just the easiest excuse

Are you kidding me? My pillow was the most rtv’d item ever. I was so glad to see that weirdo mustached face go away.

Never had a mypillow returned at our store. Everyone loved them. You must live where there are a bunch of id--ts brainwashed by the media.

It's totally made up, just like everything else on this board. What a gang of My Pillow trolls. Did it ever occur to any of you that if MyPillowGuy had sold the same quality product to BBB and others, that he sells through his own website, his product wouldn't have been the most returned product ever, and it might still be selling it in more places?

Conversion is not as widespread in retail as one might think. Many retailers focus on more specific store controllable metrics that will drive conversion while not really using that term.

To "Customer Here"..curious..where do you work? Conversion is a retail term..not specific to BBBY.

I heard they are using this as a way to get rid of fill-timers, so they don't have to pau for benefits.

@pup I work for another retailer and and want to see what's going on at other retailers and the industry as a whole. I've been following this 'Layoff Site' for a while.

Yeah, if it was that easy you could just get a group of friends to visit and leave without paying, every day for a couple weeks, to get someone fired.

You cannot be fired for conversion. It had to be a different reason.
If they start firing for conversion there would be no one left running the stores.
