Thread regarding Pembina Pipeline Corp layoffs

Absence Management Advisor job posting

Has anyone else seen this new posting whilst looking for new employment? Obviously the company needs to be protect itself in these circumstances, but in essence this position was created to assist in building pre-emptive cases against staff members who are observed to be struggling and may consider engaging a disability leave for whatever reason. All business at the end of the day but still an ugly look to seek a reason to turf people/guilt them into staying vs. looking after your staff (we all know how this place operates. Don't gaslight us and pretend you care about us). Question: Hopefully this also applies to C-suite and management? Specifically substance abuse?

Forgot to mention: the workload, unrealistic expectations of staff, workplace theatrics/politics.... Pembina brings these problems on themselves and then blames us for it. Staff need to document everything with this company if you are communicating with them directly. Communicate with them in writing if possible, in meetings, record dialog on your personal phone, and if speaking to them on a cell phone, download a phone record app. Canada/Alberta are one consent jurisdictions so as long as you consent, you are all good.

Targeting vulnerable people for layoff vs. assisting them would be on-brand for Pembina and within its guardrails (in my opinion) Ex.: alcohol served at weekday social club lunches, alcohol served at "Pembina Pour" events with the former Pembina CEO stating that "We will always celebrate with a drink", Stampede parties at National which went off the rails, Christmas parties with booze everywhere, staff members with illegal dr-gs in their possession. This site should serve as an excellent starting point for any future litigation from former staff that is for sure.
