Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Layoffs coming???

The weekly cutting of hours because of lack of sales is just making layoffs in the near future more promising. Anyone agree?

In my store after 5pm it’s only 2 people and the key holder. Our store is over 50k square feet. We’ve had multiple push outs because they know there is no one on the sales floor. It’s a shame how bad thing have become.

I like that the multiple exclamation person has branched out to question marks. Being able to step out of your comfort zone is a great skill

Yeah this just seems like another stop in the job search for a lot of people just in case they don't get a job somewhere else compared to the old times where people sought out Bed Bath and Beyond and wanted to work and grow here. No one outside of employees who have been here for a while would want to deal with this murky hours situation especially when there is much more stability at other spots.

My store hired three people recently and not one showed up for their first shift. I'm positive that has to do with hours. I wish they'd just laugh in the SM face when offered the job with these pitiful hours and be honest and take a hard pass. Nobody looking for a job TO PAY BILLS is willing to work for 9-12 hours a week. Get real BBBY!

We have a bunch of employees. Unfortunately, the part timers are only getting 4 hours a week and a few are not even scheduled for next week. Even full timers lost a couple of hours. They won't have to lay anyone off at my store, people are already looking for employment elsewhere.

I do work in a store , 18 years and counting so trust me the store I’m in, it’s possible. As anonymous as this is, if I told you where I work, it would understand.

Store closings seem like the likelier option at this point, can't have only part timers and one manager run the store... Though I am sure they will try.

If you think there are still enough employees to actually lay some off, you DO NOT work in a store. Seriously.

Then maybe your store will close eventually. Where I’m at I’m sure we will see layoffs

Who they gonna layoff? Customers? Our store only has 11 employees total and half of them only get 12 hours a week.
