The public avoids BB&B because former workers inform the public the company is abusive and toxic.
Current employees as well as past employees spread the word to their family, friends, neighbors. You treat your employees like cr-p, and the employees tell the general public about you being a horrible and disgusting company of abuse.

A vast majority of the public could give two cents less about how the employees are treated. Customers are leaving because most want convenience and price, two things BBBY can’t compete on.

The original OP is quite correct! I was laid off after 16 years with the company. My family, friends and acquaintances have vowed never to shop there again-----I never suggested this to them by the way. Also, the word has been getting out on what a terrible place it has become to work. The company expects hard work and loyalty but treats everyone poorly.
