Layoffs and this scam called the CA agreement it saved a few jobs for a little bit. Now management can move their least favorites around to do a lot more work all over the plant. What a fall from what a good job it use to be here in Schenectady. I’m sure the reset is not over.

I think GE is trying to operate Schenectady by the simplest means. They will keep it going but it will be as low tech as possible. Any businesses that are doing really well right now and expanding are not coming to a state like NY. If they can, they are leaving states like NY and CA. I think GE already shutdown everything in NY that it could. The rest that remains, they are stuck to like a bad marriage they can't get out of. I bet GE is hoping NY will kick out what remains of them. This way GE gets what they want and can claim it's not their fault.
Reverse split, pending company break up, no orders, inflated employee head count…. The stock is in free fall. How long are they going to keep paying for non productive workers?

Ridiculous post. The company is entitled to all of your time productive and idle. If one department is slow moving you to a busier dept, minimizes OT. Moreover, if you have idle time they can ask you to do anything. No more entitlement a-s time. That (a combined job titles) is what the CA is all about. On the two-tier system, leaving jobs with gov't or in the trades aside, who pays better, even at the second tier. Rejoice, this isn't your dad's GE anymore. The lifestyle he enjoyed while at GE is gone. Margins are down and foreign countries like China and India demand stuff consumed in their countries be made their (just as we would in the US) . So rejoice I say.

@ivb+1gsYsyjW The problem is that it doesn’t take any value to replace a GE employee in Schenectady anymore, they assured that with the two tier pay system. They set the site up to fail and it looks like their plan is working.
Don't worry, nobody of any value is lined up to take our jobs. So we have that for protection. The people we need would never degrade themselves by coming to NY and work in Schenectady. NY is not open for business.
