Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Is it a joke?

Guess what for GEO's 23rd Annual Conference (https://www.globalequity.org/geo/Annual2022) GF has a speaker talking at the session Facing the Future: Face to Face on "Keeping Talent from Walking Away with Equity Compensation".

This coming from a place that is struggling to retain any talent at GF, what a big freakin joke. Does anyone not do any research before inviting these folks?

GFs ESPPN is a joke … lol what equity compensation ??

Did U guys see the going to expire Covid test kits with the “For Free” and a note stating expiring on April 30th ?

That “going to expire test kits giving free” basically sums up what GF thinks of their employees ….

Holy sh-t you are right…

Break out session 1…. 1.3 Keep talent from walking away with equity compensation….. People should contact GEO in mass and tell them this not a good idea…and/or her fellow panel members and inform them of the hypocrisy of having them speak and that it undermines their organization’s and conferences credibility. At least give the other panel members a heads up so they don’t look silly or embarrass themselves with the association.

This is like having a certain dictator/country in the news lately on the UN Security Council or human rights council the ironic hypocrisy is tremendous

this is confusing for multiple reasons

  • GF sponsored equity has only been a thing for a few months for most people. Based on the IPO filings equity was selectively granted 2-3 other times, but likely only to level 10s and above
  • the seed shares for all seemed rushed and a second thought after outcry from the employee base
  • the ESPP option is average compared to other companies... not the best, not the worst

I was given RSU (stocks) (Lvl 5-staff technician) when I turned in my resignation. I still left because the new company countered by offering more shares and larger sign on bonus.

The speaker will be talking about how GF has the highest attrition rates under the mistaken impression that attrition is like Yield / safety.

Speaker will than credit the excellent HR policies and HR leadership.
