Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Fear of the truth

There are a lot of smart people who left after their work here was made difficult just because they made it clear that they didn't agree with the manager's philosophy.
Here, "good" employees are only those who say what management wants to hear.
Why so much fear of the honest opinion of hard workers who wish well to themselves and this company as well?

Yep, happened to me in the UK, a PS manager with Napoleon syndrome, beyond contempt and spineless in front of customers.
Since promoted to director level as he is an expert a** likr, says it all about Xerox now, as well managed as the Russian Military and all about egos.

Nothing but "yes" people now.

Xerox stopped being open to suggestions/criticism internally back in the 2000's, at least for my org. Prior to that it was encouraged. After that you were labeled as a "problem" or "barrier". Same org, same mgmt, before and after. I had hoped that the Lean Six Sigma wave would have kept the introspective process alive, but in reality it seemed to do the opposite. Almost like the feeling was "the LSS team will handle things like that - just keep doing it the current way". During the days of Quality it was much more acceptable (my opinion).
