Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Searching for opportunities

I don’t believe there are many who aren’t trying to get out of here. However, I have been trying for a long time and it's starting to demoralize me. I don't know if others who found new jobs much faster are just luckier or if the problem is something else. How long have you been looking for a new job and how many applications have you submitted?

Once you are outside the PepsiCo bubble you will find that a lot of the cr-p that PepsiCo values is meaningless to other employers. Endless PowerPoint presentations, hours of pointless meetings, managers that make careers of attending meetings and spouting and creating new buzzwords, an HR performance appraisal system that is obviously anything but equitable and an enormous bureaucratic cost burden on the company only for the purpose of distributing meaningless 1% raises that no one cares about. This is why other companies are leery when they see PepsiCo on your resume.

If you can't find a job in this market then you need to stop blaming PepsiCo and look in the mirror to see who the problem is!!

Can confirm there is truth to that “big red mark” comment - have had several coworkers tell me that the employees at their new places of work were very cool towards them at first - needed several months to convince people that they weren’t bringing the “Pepsi toxins” with them.

I gave up internally since most of the internal jobs stay within that department or give in to nepotism . I applied outside Pepsi and the competition in the DFW is tough because of all the people from California moving here. So one job will easily have 50 — 80 applicants. Temp agencies will hire pretty quickly. Just be clear of your requirements. I am happily employed and enjoying life to the fullest at Toyota North America. I thank God everyday no more Pepsi as long as I live. Been trying to get into Toyota since 2016 and I finally made it!!! Praise the good Lord.

First of all this sounds like HR trolling, but since you're asking. You have to realize that in 2022 that having Pepsico/Frito-Lay/Quaker on your resume is a big red mark that will make any future potential employers put your resume in the reject pile. I suggest that you alter your resume and change out the Pepsico part to Kruger Industrial Smoothing.
