Most time lost in meetings with huge numbers of unassociated people just to run up the bill on meeting time. At the end of your project they'll blame every 'sin' and missed deadline not matter how trivial you're side committed in order to justify more time and billing.
Good place for fresh outs to start and learn what cutthroats some will be in business, may as well encounter them now. These guys talk the talk but don't walk the walk.
Once they in your system they're like he---s, there forever.
Over the last 20 years I have never spoken with an executive at acn that has social skills. They don’t know how to answer the telephone or talk on the phone. They always have a negative pessimistic snarky attitude. Don’t start your career there. They will cut you in a heartbeat if the economy changes. That gear has been well greased. Andersen Consulting didn’t cut people like that but ACN does. The company lost its sole when it sold out. You should work someplace where layoffs are the last thing they do, not the first. Layoffs are a form of risk. Your salary in no way compensated you for that risk. It is foolish to take that risk. Layoffs can set your career back years. They don’t care. Work somewhere else. It is a bad business.
Accenture is cool and anyone working here is lucky. I've worked from multiple companies and ACN is by far the best of them. You will not get rich here and it's hard to make a stellar career within Accenture - but, you'll learn and once you jet you will be set for the rest of your career.
11 years with acn, left as a senior manager a few years back. yep, it's a bit cultish but you are free to leave any time and nobody will shed a tear. learn as much as you can while at acn, opportunities are many. if you have the partner dna, go for it, it's a rough ride but it will (likely) be rewarding.
