Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Global Town Hall cancelled - why?

Cancelled 30 minutes before it was scheduled to start. Does anybody know why? Several in our Core were going to watch it.

I'm not worried. I'm riding this tu-d to the bottom and then I'll swim up and catch another passing boat. Doesn't matter to me if it happens tomorrow or next year. My skills are easily transferable.

You people pontificate about your goodness for selling snake oil to your customers rather than finding employment elsewhere. So explain why you're worried now.

Best case someone hit with a bad case of covid with minutes to go, any other alternative can not be good news

Correct, 2M shares, not dollars. Purchased around 1.3M on Friday 4/22 and another 730k or so on Monday 4/25. At an average cost of $17.40 or so, probably spent close to $35M dollars total for this latest round.

$2M isn't the same to Icahn as it would be to us, but he's one of the "old school" investors that doesn't like to waste even $100k on an investment.

Hey Geniuses, $2M is like a nickel to Uncle Carl.

I don’t think you can link Icahn’s recent purchase of additional Xerox stock with him knowing something. Many investors have agreements in place with their purchasing agents to automatically buy a stock when it hits a low or sell when it hits a high. That’s basically what happened in this case. That said, I’m not suggesting that there’s nothing to the current whirlpool of rumors swirling around and what he knows or doesn’t know. As is always the case, the frontline workers will be the last to know.

I'm not at Xerox anymore so I know nothing of the town hall. But like most things posted here there is probably nothing to it, or something simple like staff out with covid.

You'd have to prove Icahn knew something ahead of time, something that's very hard to do since they know how to skirt the rules. I'm sure he knows what'scoming. There's no way he'd sink $2M more into something that kept losing value without knowing a lifeline was coming.

If Icahn new something before it was announced, wouldn’t that be inside trading?

Icahn isn’t doubling down on his investment to lose money. He knows something the street doesn’t. News should be out shortly, perhaps by the end of the day. The executive team is getting their golden parachutes ready, so they couldn’t make the town hall.

Less than 60 minutes before meeting: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are cancelling today's global town hall ..." This is consistent behavior that our management has an inability to plan and resolve issues. What kind of message does this send to employees? After our poor 1st Q results the increase reductions as part of project Own It expense cuts I want to hear from the CEO and senior team. I have lost all confidence in our senior management. Tired of the secretive weirdness of the last few years.

The company stock price started falling around the same time as the cancelation notice came out. Down around $0.50/share now. Maybe related?

Very last minute. Something is going on. Could be simple reason like technical issues or something more interesting. We may or may not find out.
