Thread regarding Pembina Pipeline Corp layoffs

The worst feeling

I’d rather be laid off than have this feeling that I’ve stayed here too long, which is really starting to bother me. I believe that all those who finally decide to leave think they just wasted their time and energy here?

I chose to leave and it was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. The place where I am now, they actually respect, value, and listen to the people who work there. They care about stress levels and work-life balance. Managers are actual leaders who are inspiring those who report to them.

It’s not easy breaking away from the Stockholm syndrome one develops whole working Pembina, but it’s so much better once you’re no longer there. You don’t have to put up with the abuse and disrespect, and you can have a life outside of work.

@1eix+1gqGfA91: Make way for whom? There isn't a line of people in Calgary these days who want to work for Pembina. I heard that directly from someone in HR. Pembina took their people for granted for a very long time and it is biting them in the you-know-what. Problem is no one wants to do anything about it.

Original poster: There was an excellent post somewhere on this site about the layoff process and severance package the company provides. Don't expect to be treated well. They even lowballed and ghosted the senior folks.

You could just quit and make room for someone who wants to work there.
