Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Don't expect any more major rounds

Xerox is at the stage where having a massive round of layoffs like we used to have for years is no longer feasible. Doing so would cripple the company's ability to do anything, and even our leadership isn't stupid enough to do that. What we will be seeing is a refusal to backfill positions vacated through attrition along with some smaller rounds when they want to snipe some specific people for whatever reason. Major rounds are a thing of the past.

There's a large gap between your chin and your nose. Narrow the gap.

Why do folks who no longer work for the company visit this site and comment move on already.

They have already crippled their ability to do allot of basic functions. They ARE that stupid, or just don't care.

I believe you are correct. There are many references about the
Great Retirement. We, my demo graph that I won't disclose, is being shown-the-door to retire or at least leave and take your pension as the door hits your a-s behind you. The message I'm feeling is "We can hire two people to replace you. They will also work for less" "We can use AI to fix machines". Oh, really?! O-Kaaay...
You give me a Global-guy with 6 months 'experience' on production and expect him to replace me? I have production experience since 1998. O-Kaaay...
You also won't let me OJT him, which is our culture. You'd rather said-person take office products that are in a tailspin. Got it.
When I retire, get pi---d off and retire, get pi---d off and quit...you got nothing. Deservedly earned.
This does prove to me that Xerox does not want to continue with production or the knowledgebase/trust of tenured techs. The Benefits center is all too eager to help me understand how to exit-stage-left. 'They' would no longer have to fund the Pension fund I occupy.
Mr. Icahn has pawned his high-$ techs off to Global. Something Xerox has wanted to accomplish since the early 1980s which started with the PSR program. The SNOW-smash-up has cost tons of resignations and retirements. 'They' don't seem to mind. 'They' let middle manager lose-their-minds trying to figure out how to do business. 'They' say 'don't worry' we got this covered with CareAR. Ref-Press Earnings videos. Riiiight.... Okaaay...
But, 'they' have forgotten one BIG factor. Humans like doing business with people they like to doing business with; HUMANS/PEOPLE they have built a relationship with and trust. This is not a chain restaurant where a 'server' is a cookie-cutter, entry-level employee. This is where the end product is a highly-skilled service technician i.e.; 'Repairing' the machine is not the only part of the equation of service. There is attitude, body language training, break-fix competence, experience, maturity, ownership, tenacity, organizational skills, time management, safety awareness, security compliance, training (for Pete's sake at the least) included. Can you AI all that? Riiiight...
This 'Company' is now poised to be broken into many parts and sold as Mr. Icahn wanted to do in the first place. He has accomplished what the PSR program couldn't. Nicely done. He now can pawn-off his highest expense, service. The jewel of Xerox. How did Mr. Vissen put it, "We will never abandon our Core". Riiiight... I have a very hard time believing him. 1. He looks like death-warmed-over. 2. He has the body and eye language of someone who is lying to the press. 3. He looks dead inside. 4. His first slide in his presentation was promoting ESG. 5. The whole staff looks dead inside. One woman was sitting on her hands.
We will never see a 'package' to 'go-away'. Our Pension will continue to lose $ due to % rates and we will be sold off to the lowest-bidder soon. I would not bring you here to say nothing more...Please get your finances in order. Understand what Benefits can and cannot offer you. Figure out the next step for your career. If you are still a 'Mother Xerox' person, well done soldier. You did well. Joe Wilson and David Kerns would be so proud of you. But, Our Company and culture doesn't exist anymore. WAKE UP! It's time to TCOYF. Take Care Of Yourself First.

Disagree. JV needs to cut another $150m ASAP. He said it.
