Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Layoffs are coming

Sabre is heavily in debt from the pandemic. They had to borrow some money to keep them float for few years. That is coming due very soon.
The easiest and fastest way to paid it off would be layoff. Unless they can get it all refinance.

This is 100% on point. If you're not preparing for layoffs, you're in for a world of pain.

No immediate layoffs. In case of financial emergency - another part of the company will be cannibalized (sold) to cover the situation. This company cannot afford laying off people now. Without the folks now - it will crumble under the weight of its tech debt.

What part? Look at the beautiful program developed almost completely independently from the 'old Sabre'. By mere accident it is driven by former Google folks...

Sabre has certainly faced a lot of pressure in the past couple of years as an effect of the pandemic as well as a need to re-platform from TPF to the cloud. In that time period, long term debt grew by about $1.5 B to $4.72B (see https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/SABR/sabre/debt-equity-ratio). Thus far, though, it seems they've been successful at securing refinancing (see https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/sabre-corporation-announces-refinancing-of-term-b-loans-301499629.html).

Some analysts predict that they may not return to profitability before 2025. Layoffs are not a certainty but Sabre is not out of the woods yet.

Person who posted this has no clue. Read the public information about Sabre's debt when it comes due. Sad some d-mbasses have nothing better to do.
