The company suffered about $175 million in lost sales during the quarter as a result of out-of-stocks at BBBY. Bravo! MT for your success at BBBY. The blind man who “SEE” is better than a “SEEING” BBBY CEO who is blind! Bravo MT again.

This is not true. Every BBBY has a minimum keys to coverage on their sales floor. This is in addition to their manager and receiving and put away staff. Everyone knows this as it’s part of the CS mystery shop.

There’s not “plenty enough”. It’s ridiculous. My local 7 11 has more employees in it at any given time than we do! You can not make money if you don’t spend money. Fact.

There are plenty enough people in the building. If you struggle then you don’t have the right people. Go hire. Plenty of applicants right now. Why not change your situation?

It’s not enough people in the building. This is cr-p. I’m not asking for an army but I am asking for enough people to cover the basics.

This is why conversion is so important. One percent conversion increase in each store would add back 800 million in lost sales. Let’s go!

Sounds like you don’t know how to schedule in December. That’s plenty of coverage for a store with competent employees.

@stores being given resources….that’s absolute bu-----t!!! When it’s a weekend in the middle of December and your running the store with a cashier a hard side and a soft side…both key holders…one opened and the other closed and MAYBE one pt for a mid…that’s not a lot of resources. There was no one to sell anything!

Here we go again! Blame the workers, blame out of stock problems, blame the bad economy, blame lazy workers. “The fish rots from head down@ from BBBY have you heard that expression before? You are the Captain of this sinking BBBY Titanic and we are just poor passengers on your pathetic ride on sinking ship? Hello!

That number pales in comparison to the amount lost due to lazy and incompetent store employees. Stores are given plenty of resources to drive sales and increase profits. I estimate that at least four times this amount was lost due to poor execution by the stores. But everyone here will just blame corporate for the stores failures.

You are so right as reported by Retail Dive News and Trend this month. Bed Bath & Beyond ended the year on a particularly sour note, as its recent fourth-quarter earnings report revealed. With business conditions expected to remain challenging, Bed Bath & Beyond's turnaround effort may be dead on arrival.
