I've heard that after Easter hours are dropping dramatically. Why not close early to combat low staffing and slower business after 6 or 7?

@OP+1. Hopefully they will adjust the hours accordingly. The slower days are torture.
@mpp. You are so right. That is pathetic and when my managers ask me to lie I flat out say that I am not going to do it. Belk and a lot of the people that work there are embarassing anymore. I can't wait to get out of there.
@1pf- It is better to be slapped with the truth than to be kissed with a lie! I agree with you 100% on that thinking. Guess what my Belk store manager told us yesterday at morning store meeting that she does not care if we all lying for a living to get Belk credits as long as she must achieve her credit quotas for this week or this month! You see how sad how crooked and how pathetic Belk company operates these day?
@cbd. It really is sad. I know what about you mean about the pets getting all the consideration. It is really rampant in our store. 75% of the associates in our store make their own rules and it is ignored.
But it depends on how you get the credits . I got gold for the last fiscal year but I don't believe in misleading or lying to the people. Full disclosure because thats what i would respect. Some of these older people are a little confused and are not getting the full information. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with getting a lot of credits honestly. But the person that hounds them in my store is very sleazy about it. And lies or just flat out does not care if they want tnem or not. At the end of the day I guess we all have to live with ourselves.
It used to be we would get the Macy" rejects" , Now it seems the "Best of Belk" is the worst of all. I'm almost at the point of leaving Belk off my resume. I dunna know I'l find some other company to put down and hope they believe me.
@cbd&@1dr So glad that we agree on Belk perception of deception about customer service at Belk store today. Mistakes can change everything at Belk. My store manager asked me what is the best thing about Belk corporation and I said honesty and good customer service not pushing and hounding customers for getting Belk credits! I am the best “hound dog” for credits every week at my store. You see my point about Belk tragic mistakes!
Best of Belk at our store were the lowest paid associates that are managers pets. When asked what the criteria was for "best of belk", the store manager was at a loss for words. This place has become a complete joke. Sad what private equity can do to a company that was once upon a time strong and stable.
People don't want to be to be hounded to open credit cards, give emails and open apps. They just want to get good customer service while they shop. In our store the best of belk was the one who hounds people to get the credits. And our manager ignores all the problems that causes. Sycamore is interested in taking big investor payments period. Belk thinks it's all about perception but the truth is staring us in the face everyday. Associates and managers are dropping like flys in our store and I am working on being the next one.

I took the time to help a customer during busy hours this Easter weekend. After thanking me for personal attention and service, she said Belk does not care anything about customer service in store anymore and just pushing for stupid Belk credit card and emails capture what a lousy company you folks have changed since bought out by Sycamore Partners.
