Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

INJURY PERFORMANCE REVIEWS

Why so many performance reviews in Injury Claims?
The workload and expectations are unreasonable!
TMs cannot even manage their employees because they are covered up with claims so they are a "glorified CS."
Work from home is not even enough to keep CSs in injury, nor is the $1,000 bonus in August, and that is only going to anyone rated a 2 or above! So that narrows that payout down!
Do the higher ups really care about the customer? Or their employees?
What are the reasons behind the horrible treatment of the employees?
And the performance reviews? If you look hard enough you can put anyone on performance review because everyone makes mistakes. Is it so they do not have to give salary increases? Or to get people to leave?
It is just hard to understand.
Some of you management people or people with insight shed some light for everyone!

Yeah reward a 1 cause they cannot get or keep enough employees to do the work. No one will stay with the environment if they can find something else.

Right a F or a D for a grade doesn’t mean you failed. It means you skipped class or the teacher was bad. One of the new HR programs is to award a participation trophy to every level 1 performer-that will make them feel better.

Employees EARN their time off but get dinged for using it! That is a problem. And a 1 rating could be many things, not necessarily that you are not doing the work. It could be sickness, training issues, trying to force you out because you are a long term employee, etc. It does not mean you are a bad employee. It could also be that your TM does not like you! MGT can set you up for success or failure. They can find all the good or bad that an employee does. In INJURY with the 300 claim inventory there are good and bad in every inventory. Some employees get a pass some do not unfortunately.

first of all a one rating shouldnt get anything, likely everyone else on their team is doing all the work anyway if you manage that bad of a rating. I can honestly think of two situations, they were unable to comfortably fire you before ratings were due, or you had massive amounts of time off, though cigna or not. They always ding you on rating for extensive time off.

I will say from at least two people I know on performance review, its they take too much time off (unplanned) or they have so much work on their plate they cannot possibly care and be sane at the same time.

As long as management considers themselves "better than" and subordinates are considered kids and/or minions you will live in a stagnant go nowhere work environment that does not live up to the work environment they sell. Just remember it is all whether they like you and fit in to their narrative. It is all about the opposite of what they sell because what they sell is not attainable and is a false narative/promise. It's all taken care of behind closed doors by a select few.

The questions are: why are so many people on performance management? In that environment with those expectations anybody can be a 1 rating. Anyone can be on performance management in that environment.
It may be time to go for those on performance management but does anyone pull through it and come off of it?
Why do they expect employees rated a 1 to work OT because if you are a 1 rating you should not get OT pay for "bad performance."

If leadership is performance managing you, it’s time to look for a new job. The company just craps on injury CSs, I don’t understand how they will keep any of their new staff with this treatment. The pension is gone , the 401k and pay is just average, what will keep handlers around ?

@maz. I dont think they can deny your benefits. If you leave the company you will not have benefits with state farm.

So Yi put all the stuff in place as far as treating employees like sh-t? And putting so many people on performance review with no hopes of coming out of it! Once you get that far may as well quit! 1 rating and performance review is just like being pushed out the door or told to leave.
Then they want an employee who sucks at their job according to their rating to work OT! if you rated a 1, you ain't good enough to work OT!
Not sure what ID--TS that run the organization are thinking?

Yi had a lot of support for his actions. A lot. And they're all still here.

So they can deny benefits after unemploying you.
