Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

I was hoping it would be much better after the pandemic

I was being very naive when I thought it would be much better here after the worst of the pandemic is over. Anyone else? Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be any better. Moreover, it is worse than ever. I risked my health working for BBBY in the most difficult moments. And for what? For nothing.

Most stores have begun a turnaround. Corporate just made some brutal death blow decisions.

You get rid of inventory…change products into cheaper stuff overseas that you now cannot get. Then even the cheap cr-p becomes expensive.

This board has turned into a nursery school. People who cry all day and people who act like 3 year old. I am thinking it is only a few people..we have

The multiple !!!!! Poster

The person who calls anyone who is slightly positive a corporate goon

The poster who calls others clowns

The person who insulTS MT constantly with ethnic slurs

The many posters who complain and complain yet fo not try to get another job

The one who is racist

I think there are several overlaps. It is immature people who act like small children

We are doing our job by asking customers- we just don’t have what they want. There’s no more As Seen on TV products, no more Wamsutta- customers loved the products that came from Wamsutta, we have a whole stockroom of our table table top products that nobody is buying which was B.Smith- way too much orange/ yellow now that it looks like mush to the eyes( not eye pleasing) attention grabbing to say I need that. Nestwell Pillows look all the same -soft, medium and firm-with the light blue lettering ( really have to pay attention to the product description)
BBB has to listen to what the customer is telling is which is they don’t like the products that BBB is carrying. Without customers BBB is doomed to fail
You can have a great concept but it’s a matter of making it sell. I truly believe BBB new branding is generic- blah, not eye catching very dull colors for sheets and cheaply made. I can sell but I’m not commission paid and not going to sell you soap made from Po-p,

Of a customer leaves without making a purchase it’s because the lazy good for o thing store employees didn’t do their job. Quit coming here to complain and whine about how lazy and incompetent you are.

We have what customers are looking for. It is your job to show them that and let them know what we have in the store is what they need. Quit whining.

Well it’s obvious that customers don’t like what BBB has despite what MT was quoted. Customers walk in look around see that shelves are empty and walk out. Yes we can stop and as What can I help you with? Question but customers are looking for products that we don’t have- Oh but I can order that for you- no thank you I’ll just order it myself at home- I can order that for you right now- no I’m ok.
See we have created an instant gratification customers. Just not us but everywhere you shop. People don’t like to wait. Just look at our DoorDash complaints- I want it now attitude- where is it, it’s not here. There are real valid complaints but we get the Karen’s that make matters worse. Also why does BBB advertise items we don’t have in stock

Best course of action is just to focus on your job at hand while looking at other opportunities as the well has essentially dried up here and mostly everyone in this company is just running out the clock at this point.

I cannot be sure but I THINK THE OP posts every few days with some complaints then asks for more negative replies. Misery lives company but choose happiness

OP, you won’t be happy anywhere you go. When someone is paying you they actually expect you to work. Go find one of the cities that is handing out universal basic income and then you can sit on your government phone complaining how har life is for you. The rest of us have work to do so leave us alone.

Maybe we can trade MT back to Target for a prospect and a player to be named later.

Sorry for how you feel. And it’s true. They never have been a company to pat people on the back or recognize anything. As far as the company itself goes I have been here nearly 20 years and I have never seen it as bad as it is now. I’ve never walked in my store and thought that it wasn’t salvageable. I do now.
