Fake lean projects run rampant at GE Aviation. Muskegon had a lean Shingi event with Larry's personal Sensei last summer. Sensei is a nice guy but the whole event wasn't worth over $100K! Useless waste of resources and ignorant rearranging of machine lines so they can just be moved back to their original place six months later. I left there and am much better for it. I had 20 plus years with GE and saw a failed business model that had slowly emerged over my career there. What a shame. I am so disappointed and am concerned for all my friends who still work there. Cash flow is down and sinking as fast as the share value. My recommendation is to leave there as soon as possible.

Lean does not mean less workers. Who ever is trying to convince anyone thats the case, clearly doesnt now what Lean is. In fact. most Lean projects in Schenectady NY in the last 10-12 years, have created more hourly positions. If your a slug that doesnt like to work each day, your prob claiming less folks with more lean, otherwise your just blowing smoke!

They been beating the lean dead horse since bank melt down of 2009. They have nothing else to hang their hats on. Right or wrong, move it along,if it ain't right, ship it at night....

Lean action is the best thing for Schenectady it will cause a nice layoff. Less people doing the same if not more production. It’s a win win for me I will never get laid off I got 10 years in this place.

With that being said. Lean managers must be short term temporary position until they find out how to get rid of them.

“Fake” lean projects are rampant across other sites as well. Just another box to check to satisfy the upper echelon. If continuous improvements were a reality over the past two decades, we wouldn’t be in such bad shape now. Wear your rose colored safety glasses and everything is fine.
