I really don’t care how much the CEO is paid, as long as I’m happy with how much I get paid for the work I do and the effort I put in.

The only place honestly where the top and bottom are equal is at the off campus site. There no one worries about hi-pots versus average joes. We are all the same.
When people like MW have laid off thousands to keep the dividend high and continue stock buybacks but took absolutely no hit on his pay, he made no sacrifice to try to save any jobs himself, that's a major problem. This country in general has major problems where the wealthy get away with pretty much anything. Its partially why there is so much violence and anger here. If people had decent jobs that gave them time with family and kept them healthy maybe things would be better.
Funny you thing those at the top still work crazy hrs at these companies. You crack me up. I have good friends high up at multiple companies they goof off more then me. They just hide it as a business trip or lunch with others or networking in the evenings so they can run that plastic company card
I care about the general growing imbalance between the base and the top in the USA, and I say this as a member of the 1 percent. Capitalism works best when everyone is playing on the same field. Look to Russia to see the result of a few taking a huge percent (buying super yachts and moving profits out of the country while the masses live on little). Top 1% manage to pay a small percentage of tax on their profit and yet get oversized benefits from government services. A more balanced economy is better because consumers drive production, without the government imposed imbalances favorable to those that can can directly pay “our” representatives.
Would you be happy if you were EVP and your boss worked the same hours as you but was paid more than double your pay?
Guess you have to consider the source. This is actually a layoffs site but is populated by disgruntled CVX employees with no life or social network who troll here instead of doing real life things. No other company's section of this website is like this one.
Presumeably, the people posting about CEO pay don't feel happy with the amount they get paid for their efforts...? It's ok for you to be satisfied, and it's ok for them to be dissatisfied, too.
