I’m posting this early in the hope that a lot of Lowe’s associates will band together and get the word out to the company that we will NOT accept some pathetic 2% or 3% raise next year. They’ve been lowballing us year after year and I’m sick and tired of it.
Even before the rise in inflation our raises each year don’t even keep up with the hike in insurance premiums. We’ve been actually losing money this way and as Marvin LOVES to say over and over again “It’s standard practice in the industry.” Well, enough is enough. I’m sick and tired of his little pointed head popping up on my work screen to justify another cost cutting measure or policy change at our expense.
We need to make it plain to the people at the top that throwing peanuts at us again this year is NOT going to work. Can you imagine what your insurance premiums are going to be next year after they jack up the cost!? You think your pathetic 2.5% raise is going to even come close? We need to do something NOW. We need to start talking about this everywhere, especially in the stores. The upper managers and the district staff need to be aware that we’re not going to accept this.
And don’t take any excuses!!! You think your district manager gets a 3% raise!? You think Marvin and his flunkies accept those kind of raises!? He gets paid MILLIONS to con us into accepting this BS and it’s got to stop! We need to make it painfully clear that it’s not going to work again. Not in these economic circumstances!
We need to get ready NOW. The message has got to be sent: “You want employees Marvin? Then you better pay us what we’re worth!”
