Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Who Else Feels GREAT After Leaving AIG?

I do miss my coworkers ALLOT, but wow, leaving that toxic he-l ho-e of AIG is the best thing I ever did!!! Feels amazing. You really don’t know how bad it is working at AIG until you aren’t there anymore, at least that was my experience.

The grass really is greener folks. Do not waste away at aig unless you are actually close to retirement.

It has been 2 years since I got laid off and I couldn’t be happier or healthier. As I review this board, it’s so funny to see that nothing has changed. Sr. Management raping the company to line their pockets, Sr. Mgt lying to employees, fear of layoffs everyday and everywhere, and a toxic work environment. They say the grass is not always greener, but every ex-AIG employee is much happier that I have reconnected with since leaving the company. I am so culture shocked at my current employer as they have so few meetings that never go more than 30 mins, everything we do is around the customer, they listen to their employees, we get these things every year called, wait for it, RAISES and these are in addition to a yearly COLA increase and our bonuses. I want to thank my POS boss for listening to me and laying me off, may she rot in he-l along with the other corporate pirates.

This March, after bonus, I left for a 40% raise for IT in a different industry.

Best decision of my life. My peers told me they had 1-2% raises.

It feels great not having to worry about when, not if, you will get laid off for whatever bs reason they can come up with.

Gone 2 years now and all is GOOD!
Was there during Hank's tenure and having been there throughout was like watching the fall of a civilization. As such the deconstruction will continue until there is nothing left.
It is a shame, was a great company.
