How many dispatchers were furloughed last year ? How many came back to work at Up ? My point is to say if ya don’t have experienced , qualified dispatchers, how you going to run a rr to get rid of all train and car delivery delays ?

Hunt Cary and Anne Morehouse were brought to the HDC to fire train dispatchers. They let go of about 25% of the train dispatcher workforce in 2020 after Hunt Cary bold-faced lied in a town hall meeting stating he wasn't going to. They then combined a bunch of territories and changed rest days on jobs. What the railroad did not expect to happen was another 200+ dispatcher resignations after. During 2020 dispatchers were included in the RULA where they were required to take 3 weeks off without pay (one week in May, June, July). After all of that nonsense, dispatchers have voted with their feet and walked away from the company. Cary and Moorehouse are long gone but the negative effects from their sl------r are still very prevalent within the organization. There are not enough people to cover jobs/vacations. Some dispatchers have had to work two desks during a shift which shows safety is not first. The dispatcher scheduling group is always calling asking if dispatchers want to work their rest days for a COMP day to be used at a later time (most likely it will get denied due to manpower). There is no real incentive to work on a rest day, so most people don't. Management is not trusted, communication still sucks, and most people only care enough to not get fired. Incompetence still runs the HDC which is rather fitting considering the rest of the so-called leadership within the company.

The dispatch center in Omaha smells like a dirty diaper because the dispatchers aren’t allowed bathroom breaks anymore. Too many layoffs
