Appears that Richmond achieved tentative agreement. Ha ha ha to the Union leadership for the failed improvement in terms using the strike. The knuckle headed union leaders clearly do not deserve any respect. FAIL!!!!! Ha ha ha. Sad for those who they were supposed to represent who lost income through this. Current USW leaders are complete failures. They need to be voted out!!!!!

There is a strike fund. But its more like a few hundred per month vs roughly $10,000/month for working.
I am sure you are encouraged tp save for a year prior to the strike as we all know it can happen. Hopefully the workers did.
I thought union dues were banked to pay strikers during union action, no?
Intangible impacts include breaking of relationships…. Union member to union member….. union member and management…. A loss for everyone. Now just gotta look ahead and rebuild relations and work to make things better going forward.
So the tangible results of the USW effort is 9 weeks lost pay (plus the loss of the $2500 signing bonus) for each of the 500 members.
What are the intangible impacts?
Strikers walked off the job March 21 and began a major picketing effort aimed at bringing the energy company to its knees. Two months later, the union effort collapsed and union leaders begged Chevron for their February offer. Chevron took pity on the union and everyone returned to work.

"Hmmm...the same union leaders and members that spout to anyone that listens how unsafe the work conditions are at CHEVRON and how the team members here are abused and overworked have their family members and friends working here. So let me pose a question, why did you refer them and help get them hired ? "
I know it seems corny but life is so much better as One Team. Management is not out to get the workers. They want the workforce to show up, and be part of the solution.
So when will the striking operators begin back on their normal shifts?
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Let’s all work to get along. If you feel the company is unfair or unsafe, you should move on to find a place that is fair or safe to your standard. No one is forcing you to stay. For those of us who want to stay, let’s unite and work together to make this place the best it can be, without bullies or threats of violence. So childish and evil…
You’re not patient, or you’d still be out. You made the choice to go out, you got lied to by your leadership, and you lost. Anyone that crossed did so for their own personal reasons, and you could have done the same. You’re not going to hurt anyone but yourself. Come in and harass your “scabs” and get fired, that’ll show them. Best to come in, do your job, and make a more informed decision next time.
Lmao union members are patient? Ya just voted yes to come back to work... ya won nothing for nobody. But ya continues with rhetorics and threats? Do ya say anything factual? Hahahahha
Agreed that everyone should act as adults and move forward from here, working together to make things better. It was a bad situation for everyone……
Let’s all be real here. The union “leadership” severely overestimated their leverage. The so called “scabs” and “rats” proved to be fully capable, and in fact in many ways ran the facility better. Experience is very valuable, and many members have plenty of that. The days of everything being secretive are over. In a strange way, this strike opened the eyes into the games that many people play. The work is not overly difficult and can be learned. The workforce is not short, but plagued by people that don’t want to show up when they are scheduled. It’s time to turn the page. Show up ready for work, put in effort, stop playing games with sick call ins, and act like professionals instead of middle school children. It’s time for the majority of the good hourly workers to stop being afraid of the vocal minority that are trying to run the place into the ground. Teamwork and effort creates opportunities for everyone to grow. Stop with the “ready to fight” mentality, and start acting like the good employees that you could be. The refinery will be a much better place to work once that happens.
Do you all kiss your mommas with those filthy mouths? You should be ashamed of yourselves!! No matter the choices each of you make, its exactly that "a choice". I truly hope none of you need the help from one another cause I am afraid your pride is going to get someone hurt. I pray you all find your way back to being a decent human being. Super sad to see this from adults. I would expect this from spoiled children.
If anyone thinking that buying lunch is because you care, please be in another unit. If the company or union bought you a Ferrari it is to buy your loyalty not integrity. As far as being short staffed, SISO was being forced every day a few years ago. We got pi---d. People apparently forget. NISO is getting it now. Do not be a HO or CBO at NISO if you want to see your family. I am sur there are SISO scabs willing to cover for them.
It's funny ya say Chevron don't care... but when was the last time the union bought lunch for union members. What do we get as an union member? When did the union show they "care" by giving an union T shirt that don't even fit? Both sizes are not great, but when it comes down to it, Chevron is the company we apply for, they hired and pay us... the union is an option(our rights), not a requirement for the job... so why all these scabs, rats rhetorics that ya need to built these narrative...
Shortage? Aren't the crews fully covered? Aren't the shortages due to vacations, sick call, baby leave, personal injury outside of work(which people are milking), military leave, workers quitting or fired... how is that feasible for Chevron to hire more people base on these unforese...OT, Aren't there more than handful of people haven't sign up for OT for years?
Should have been smart like El Segundo and Salt Lake and just taken the original deal.
My ocean front property is in Arizona
Why didn't Clack make it better when he was in the chair?
Overtime is for shortages and not to live. In the past you worked overtime to buy extra sh-t. You shouldn't have to live off it. And there is no way when most companies pay respectively for cost of living for the area you live in Chevron doesn't. But I do want to say that I appreciate you saying respectively. I don't want to be disrespectful and appreciate a decent discussion unlike some of these posts.
Contract been ratified... but why do union members want to go back to work at a unsafe facility, or unfair wages? Or it always has been safe and fair wages...
Die hard union leaders and members resorting to bullying and threats because they know they cannot negotiate with any intelligence. Look at the union leaders and die hards BK, MS, Chop, RT,…. Seriously, Some of the least intelligent people I know. Yes Chevron made a mistake when they first hired them…. They’ve messed it bad for others in the union who are working hard to provide for their families. Sad evil bullies… shame on you!!!!!
Referring to comment below... did ya union members just contradict yourself? Lmao... first ya stated the scabs was the reason the union couldn't get thr contract because we "crossed"... now ya stated, "herr we go with scabs thinking actually they matter"... since we dont matter, then how did the scabs was the reason the union couldn't get the contract? But union can't speak nothing future on that but threaten violence, bullying way...SMH qualify on the posting? Dont we live in the US, with first amendent freedom of speech ? But of course the union is notthing but socialist ideals, that someone must be qualified to post... SMH
All bulls**t aside, these working conditions aren't what I thought it would be. I came to make money, and that's cool and all but the stuff going on in here is borderline illegal. I came in early, there's alot of wrong going on inside right now I wouldn't want to work here with these people for 20 years
No Unions wanted here. Get lost and good riddance.
Here we go with the scabs thinking they actually matter...... Do you have any skills to actually qualify for the posting under NORMAL circumstances? No. No, you do not. Scabs are an unfortunate bunch. You know how it ends for scabs right? Back on the unemployment line, home with a wife that's had to make sure she was taken care of in your absence.
Here we go with Union members bully ways, do ya not know anything better than threaten violence?
The hypocrisy of the union members, telling Chevron workers to display their names while the union member mention his/her own name... lol but as usual there's absolutely no fault of the union failure to negotiate a "fair contract". With no facts union members continue with their rhetorics and bully mentality on Chevron workers who are smart enough to see that the union is nothing but socialist rhetorics and narrative, and not base on facts... also they blame the "scabs", it's quite ignorant because Chevron wasn't going to pay an 7.5% raise in the first year... it seems a lot of people don't know the union wanted a additional 5% on top of 2.5%.... it was a lose cause from thr beginning and not the fault of the scabs that crossed... now union members uses this rhetorics and narrative as its not poor union leadership to shift the blame on the "scabs"... while the "scabs" are workers, where they applied for Chevron, not the union... like most of us applied for Chevron, and Chevron hired and pays us... not the union
USW should have spent the last 4 years actually uniting it's members. Instead of bickering against themselves. The company just has to sit back and watch the membership fold on itself.
Results are in. 6 more weeks of strike.
Sell some stock do what eve it takes to stay out!!! if we go back now people who we walked the line with could be fired and they don't even have to show a reason. For all you know it could be you!!!! This is a lousy contract do not approve!!!! WE LOSE SO MUCH IF WE DO!!!!
Okay I’ve decided. Sc--w the oath… sc--w USW. I NEED TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF AND MY FAMILY!!
Do I betray my brother and keep true to the oath or betray the members and save my brother?
USW failed it's members. At this rate we will all be jobless and south Isomax will be running everything in there.
Is that Israel from SISO??? If it is, don't buy jetskis, big boy. Go buy a gastric bypass and a tummy tuck...... You're XXXXX Large a-s is sinking.
I for one would like to thank the USW Membership for calling for a strike.
While they were out their trying to improve their medical and get their procedure writers back, I was able to come in and work as a scab and make gobs of cash! I’m gonna buy some jet-skis, suckers!
