Does anybody buy this whole "we intend to be a leader in carbon-efficient production of traditional energy while building new energy businesses, where we have competitive advantages" shtick?

LOL, I don’t understand that gibberish any more than I do a fast talking cattle auctioneer.
We are carbon efficient producers of carbon. We want to advertise that we consume less fossil fuels in the production of fossil fuels. Of course we want others to burn that oil!!! If they don't, we run out of business.
Look into what new research is being done at RTC. That should help answer your question as to what chevron sees as our future business.
