Thread regarding Collins Aerospace layoffs

Burnt out and tired of doing other people's jobs

When did it become acceptable to distribute the work of those who are leaving among their teammates instead of backfilling positions?

Big downsizing planed for early 2023, Collins Aerospace name is gone, Raytheon puts itself on the block to be sold. I’m guessing 50% cut in headcount, and a 40% cut in building space footprint.

Personally I think they’ll either consolidate the 2 Raytheon subdivisions or start chopping pieces of the company off and selling. If they consolidated the 2 divisions RMS and SAIS. They could let go of abunch if people. I think Collins will eventually be sold. Just looking at past trends from other business units bought.

They have many business, employee and regulatory lawsuits going though the courts. The company is downsizing at a rapid pace, with no end in site. I’m guessing they will implode and be part of history. You can’t drive long term growth with sort term greed.

Legacy Raytheon facilities are doing the same thing. When people leave/retire they just pass that persons work onto others. No replacements are hired.

As much as the management enjoys saving money, this is not sustainable.
