I have always thought that our leadership should be grown from within. Each prospective leader having gone through the same ordeals as the rest of us. This would provide a good understanding of what each employee goes through to meet program objectives.
It was recently announced that a person who was never an engineer of any discipline, until they moved from PM to PE, and within a year of making that move, is now in charge of potentially all of Project Engineering.
A slap in the face to those who are working hard within engineering with career goals to work their way up ...

This is the L3 way. It's called "plugging holes" -which is WIDE OPEN for interpretation.

Fools rush in.
They don't promote from within, they would rather hire from outside. Learned that a long time ago and left. From all these posts it sounds like I did the right thing!
