Do you get paid your remaining vacation days in US if you quit or are PIP’ed?

Wondering if you receive your vacation days if you quit or are PIP’ed in Texas, USA. Trying to figure out if you should spend your days before quitting.

Another FYI, if you are receiving COLA (Midland/Carlsbad) the pay in lieu does not have the COLA added so you are better off taking your vacations and then quit.

FYI, check with payroll if you don't see the pay in lieu for vacation after a few pay periods. I checked with payroll and they said they had not received the required form from my supervisor. They forwarded it to them and got my money a few weeks later.

You get paid for unused vacation in all situations. Fired, pipd, resigned.
