Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

A lot of cleaning is needed

There are too many redundant roles throughout XOM, we have people who are happy to start political wars, territorial managers (and employees) who limit cooperation and even try to claim your work as theirs, and so many other things. We need a major cleaning at all levels or we'll keep losing productivity and keep losing talent who (smartly) don't want to stay in such an environment.

It would be like trying to clean the oil off the rocks after the Valdez spill. An army of people spent months power washing and mopping up. The oil still remains today, just under the surface.

Never gonna happen!

The O&A Beaumont chemical plant is the same way. We would run just fine with less managers and half of the GOOD OL BOYS CLUB. The morale would skyrocket.

Too many redundancies in “hot” areas and not enough effort to protect the base or innovate. People coming out of the woodworks to strategize, advise, and coordinate everything energy transition related. Many regurgitation of info from the public domain. I’ve actually seen vendor’s information passed off as Finished work. In some areas, unqualified or wrong people placed in critical roles. Sad.

What do you expect the environment to be like? Pipping Great folks instead of laying off and then promoting id--ts into management positions and not pipping them. Throwing beer parties to improve popularity and morale. That’s ridiculous. Baton Rouge chemical is the worst.
