We shut in a couple of weeks and the question been asked is "the Acorn stuff is ok, isn't it?" Well the answer is no it isn't and it's all heading to Scotland, sorry lads your a great bunch but your being sh-t on by the same set of clueless knackers that have closed us. Top tip for you lot though, anyone from Gateshead with the moniker containing the the words global, low cost, resource, specialist or project manager should be considered to be disingenuous. These people will close you too if you let them. I wish everyone, who deserves it, the best of luck!

Unbelievable!
Gateshead want £1.6 million out by the end of the month.

NOV's employee training support, is now messed up.
Now I have to tell my new employer I need time off for training that NOV promised.
Not only has NOV GATESHEAD!! ##cked my current employment up, its NOW having a knock on effect with my new employment, unbelievable.

And if were to ask for an explanation for this, it would just be met with WORDS, because the ACTIONS comes from everyone who is losing their jobs.
"Making bad decisions is a part of life.
Blaming others for your bad decisions is immature"
Unbelievable.

Yes they will , the people who leave will get the blame off the people who really are to blame , it’s the Gateshead culture innit

Can’t even close place without causing problems.

Says it all really.

Here’s a helping hand

Install engineers not office monkeys and QA on a contract basis in out of country third party sites. This will flush out any manufacturing QA issues

Not that difficult is it, offset the the issues with qualified boots on the ground. Will save a fortune. yet you guys seem to make the easy as complicated as possible.

The last time Gateshead was going to close everyone pitched in and worked together. Managers fighting for it to stay open, putting plans in place and presentations.
This time absolutely nothing no fight in you now you are safe. just calling the shop floor lazy because orders can’t fulfilled.
Absolutely disgusting and you all know who you are, Yes I’m talking about you

You guys could of easily stayed open. Albeit on a limited capacity. Too late now

Global valve service centre maybe
Spares and repair centre of excellence
Test facility maybe
Large floor space for central stock for NOV sites

Never mind. Great minds don’t think.

Greed and inept managers who were all self centered and bullied and held back far greater shop floor staff in fear of there own jobs

Any organisational project of this size and complexity, should of been monitored and overseen by those who are experienced qualified and professional.
The Global sourcing management and its team should all be held accountable for this disaster and it is a DISASTER.
But the reality is, all these people who have failed will soon be coming to a company near you.
