Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Just got off the phone with UFCW union

They can't wait to work with us. They are shocked most people got just a 2% raise an some of the other nonsense like cutting hours for part timers an hour before they come to work.

Google UCFW and get involved. It's the only way to get what we deserve and get treated fairly.

I wouldn’t let the UFCW clowns have a dime of my hard-earned money. All they care about is collecting dues and raising them every time there is a new contract every 4 yrs. They also make promises they cannot and will not keep.

Simply will not happen. Research how many times this conversation topic has been posted and multiple sites. Then research if it ever even got off the ground.

As for the inflation comments well companies do not (and have/will not) match inflation. All if not most all employers have little incentive to raise salaries. In particular if no one else is doing it. Second inflation a complex economic situation that happens and will (at some point ) go the other way. If any organization would match high inflation costs you could have people taking out trash making a ridiculous amount of money. Economics 101.
Thumbs down if you want, but this is the way it is.

I'm a DS and would sign up for a union if I could. Seriously, the 20 cent raise I got (highest raise in my location was 40 cents), was just a slap in my face. Especially since I'm doing the jobs of 3 people a night all while being belittled by ASMs and my SM over freight not getting done because no one is scheduled (3 people scheduled for a 1000 piece truck tonight).

So what is it that will stop an hourly signing up for a union ? And quite ?

A union would make Lowe’s cheeks picket up for sure !

It’s over due to do so !

I don't even like unions and I would sign up. Open door policy is a joke. The 25 cent raise was a sp-t in the face by corporate. A union would have prevented most if not all of the garbage that marvin and his goons have done to us and the stores. The grocery store union got a $4-$9 per hour increase for their workers and corp or whoever on here calls us unskilled workers which a union wouldn't do anything for etc.

Lowe's needs a union.

  1. Real raises to keep up with the cost of living. 2 1/2 percent when inflation is 8% is a joke. Kroger employees negotiated 9-14%.
  2. Grievance procedure not the joke the ARC is.
  3. Can't change your schedule without your permission...can't cut part timers hours without telling them.
  4. Extra $$$ for being licensed on power equipment.
  5. Can't be bothered on breaks.

There's more.

It's hilarious how some of you think that a union is going to magically make people work.
News flash, unions are terrible. You think employees are bad now? LMAO!

Yeah, mostly bad. They love collecting those dues though!

Be careful what you wish for. UFCW is both good and bad. It depends on which local represents you. Some are better than others. Pay close attention.
