What do you think of this Volunteer Paid Day Off?
Is there a catch?
If it's purely optional, it sounds ok. Maybe I'll volunteer. Maybe I won't.
I just hope there isn't pressure to do so and "post pictures".

Details on the volunteer day were posted yesterday.
Seems OK, if you ignore the question of who is paying for it.
No pressure to participate. Lot's of latitude to pick.
I can't complain.
We'll DO Everything for EVERYONE ELSE!
But . . .
Make us pay a TON of $ to come into work.
Make us get subjected to COVID.
Make us promote THESE GREAT Benefits, but don't offer them to us!
Push us to volunteer for the community.
I definitely feel valued because they tell me I'm valued. Thank you company. Thank you.
The "Renewing Our Commitment to Equity" email is already steering people to volunteer for CERTAIN opportunities.
They cannot make you, but they would LOVE it if you did CERTAIN volunteer opportunities.
All PR Machine.
Don’t forgot that the summer Friday thing-can be canceled I’m a skinny minute for “business” reasons. I don’t know anyone doing this again this year.
Summer Hours - work longer hours earlier in the week, for the perceived half day / day off at the end of the week. So forward thinking, it hurts.
My last company gave you 3 volunteer days annually. I liked it because I could use them to volunteer at my kids school. Every once in awhile HR would ask for photos but there wasn't really pressure to be part of their pr cr-p. It's a nice start that MetLife is giving a day but if they think that's going to fix morale then I have a beach house in Colorado to sell them.
Who the fu-k cares
The Human Fund is real!!

Convenient this came out during MyVoice -- Trying to obtain positive survey feedback.
Stay out of my personal life. I will volunteer and donate when/where/how I want.
This has ZERO to do with my day to day job! ZERO!
It's all part of their PR ploy!
Our forward thinking absence tracker probably won't be coded for it.
The question is, who is paying for this?
Are the shareholders paying?
Is this coming out of funds that really should be compensating employees?
I wonder if the Costanza Human Fund has a volunteer operation? Bet they do ...
