Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

MT’s weekly update

i know his videos are always fluff and hard to watch, but the last few weeks i noticed something. the CEO of our company, in his weekly hype video, has absolutely zero BBB product on the almost empty shelves behind him. it’s not SURPRISING, but you’d think there’d be at least one ugly wild sage fake plant, or an everhome vase, or an ourtable cake dome; he can’t even dish out propaganda right, lol!

Stores ordering was the worst idea ever. We are so much better off now than before. Store employees had no idea what was needed and often ordered the wrong items or items we didn’t need at all. It’s so much better now that it’s done centrally.

to be honest, it almost feels like they gave the stores ordering power again, but forgot to tell anyone, not that half the keyholders now even know how to order

You guys don’t understand how supply chains work. Everyone is out if everything right now. Nothing to do with BBBY or Mark. He is doing a great job.

Agree with last reply about 0 on hands and zero on order for active items. Nearly all active outs have none on order even. Computer ordered so not able to at store level anymore. Check just the gadget wall and you will see that nothing is even on order.

Blahaha. I was thinking the same thing. I think he should have a Wild Sage vase behind him.

He’s so sickening sweet and optimistic. That is not reality. The stores are suffering. Check out the daily deposits… not much there.

Is everyone else seeing active items with 0 on hand and 0 on order? Our store has a lot of those.

We talk a lot about conversion in our store: 1) engage all customers without something in their hands or carts, 2) be knowledgeable and accessible, 3) stay visible, 4) make shopping easy. Omg! If conversion isn’t up and we don’t have items to order then what?

Just close us already. It’s so frustrating to see everything spiraling down.

first, if it was supply chain, things would be on order and not coming in; they’re not

second, stores have PLENTY of our owned brand merchandise, especially the stupid knick knacks

third, supply chain has nothing to do with the CEO not having some of the touted owned brand merchandise proudly displayed behind him in his hype video

Supply chain issues are Putins fault, not Marks. Haven’t you been watching the news!

This reminds me of when former Apple's Ron Johnson took over as CEO for JC Penny. At the time, he did not wear cloths that Pennys sold. I guess he was too good and such a Liberal elitist to do such a thing. Well, at the end of the day, his reign at the CEO position was short.

His attempt in fluffing up the stock value and employee morale has yielded limp results. However, I think he would have more success as a "FLUFFER" in Hollywood which seems to more fit the personality
