So was at an industry engineering conference this week. I’m fairly new to Southwest so thought I could get some insight into our company from a peers perspective. Someone said rather openly that our CEO was quote “light in the loafers”. What does this mean? Another person who had previously worked for us also said he preferred his direct staff’s daily dress code to include “knee pads” and if they were also light in the loafers that was a plus. So confused. My pronouns are (he/his and sometimes hers).

Wait, is our CEO coming out of the closet? What did I miss? I’ve always suspected. This is great news.
Laid off in 2020. Found a small container of pipe dope that I “borrowed” for a home project. Kids don’t try this at home or a rig. A PDHJ is not what you think it is Wow no fun. Hats off to all the SWN rig guys who did this back in the day.
You may want to roll something else on the ol drill pipe if you flashed 4 times.
What do I have to do if I want both. Just rolled onto location.
Good times good times - at Lenny’s today with the SWN engineering team. Great turnout of engineers, pocket protectors and classic rock on the sub shop stereo. Talked about loafers and manly man. My Lenny’s All American club with the spicy relish ran right through me and my cohort had to stop off at a Mexican restaurant on the way back so I could instaflush it. Wowzer. Just like the good ol days.
Hey guys. Rig 40 here. We ain’t the prettiest bunch but we sure luv us some pipe dope.
What do you mean by “off spec pipe dope”? Throat yogurt?
Rig 46 back in the good ol FS days was given a spot bonus for the excess “off spec” pipe dope. I know firsthand cause when working night shift the pipe dope starts getting used. All true.
This would explain the excess inventory of off spec pipe dope every time the rig changed locations. How do you use some and then have more in the containers. Starting to make sense based on these games being played (PDHJ and PDBJ). Wow, just wow.
Well we played PDBJ on Rig 40 back in the day in Fayetteville. That was fun times. Even my old lady doesn’t know about it.
Look all you so called tough rig guys. If spot price was not north $7 you would be laid off given your performance. We know of one rig who has a higher than normal use of pipe dope. We heard you guys have a game called PDHJ. You know what that means.
This is leadership. This is what inspires me to stay at SWN. Plus the gym too!
My pronoun is Manly Man. That’s it. So was in the gym the other day and noticed Mr Loafers sporting well I don’t want to say cause I am using my work phone and our IT department looks at things and layoffs are looming and yay that’s a sure fire way to get laid off. I am tracking to be a Director here after 3 years from my Masters and cannot afford to get laid off as I bought a new house and leased a high end SUV for my wife.
