Seriously everyone…. Get out while the getting is good. Won’t be like this for long.

@7bit guessing this was facetious, but I did find out about two more people leaving today. At least they aren't from my team. So demoralizing either way.

HR is driving this company right into obscurity.

In the time it took you to read this post, GF lost 2 employees.

"GlobalFoundries still pumping out wafer, posting good numbers"

The problem with this comment is it does not take into account how much better it would have been if the talent was not lost.
SLT deals with attrition by no longer discussing it. Having been here 5 years, attrition has only increased in my area. I have gained so much weight from the good-bye lunches.
The team I hold responsible for attention is the SLT since they have failed throughout the years to address root cause.

Yes a lot talent and experience is leaving. There a ton of better paying jobs in our field out there at moment. It’s hot market for employees right now. Probably won’t stay like this for long so if you are thinking of leaving GF now is the time. I have a few interviews set-up over the 2 weeks. I am out as soon as I get an offer.

Sorry buddy 19% is bad. And it’s probably higher but HR played so calculation manipulation to bring the number down. I heard a few first line managers talking and they said the number is higher then what was said on all hands meeting. Despite this 19% is still pretty damn high! Intel is like 5% just for reference

GlobalFoundries still pumping out wafer, posting good numbers and getting ready to build more fab space.. The attrition rate can’t be too bad…

I heard I actuality the numbers are worse, but some accounting tricks were played to bring the final number down …. But still extremely high. Can only hide it so much

Something along the lines of techs L1-L5 >14%
L6+ ~19% engineers
