I think the best indication can be found in the amount of young newly hired people after a short while. I have witnessed “a million times” that new people are hired and they leave within a couple of weeks. We’re talking about young people that are supposed to be full of energy and motive. Maybe us long timers here are just “poisoned” in terms that we are overworked and don’t have the time to look around and realize that there are better opportunities and better companies out there.

BBBY does not pay a competitive hourly wage to Associates but yet pays the CEO over $250,000 per week in salary to not perform!!! Sounds like a radical leftist elitist move?
I get it, when I first started about 8 years ago BBB was very competitive when it came to starting wages especially when I barely had any sort of work experience. Now we are very low on the totem pole when it comes to wages and mostly every big box retailer has us beat, and even small stores in a mall pay more too. None of these younger kids have any loyalty with this company nor should they, not like the company has rewarded us for it outside of layoffs and more work for the same amount of pay.
Most people don’t stick around when exposed to a dumpster fire!
While I agree that BBBY has sunk, what you explain is not exclusive to BBBY. This is mostly due to a generation that has grown up with many things to stimulate them and has a short attention span. Many hove grown up with inclusiveness and belonging as a priority and have not received much criticism or even heard the workday “no”. When they get into the workforce they have little conflict resolution skills so if they are not stimulated or don’t agree with what they are asked to do, they just leave without saying anything because they don’t understand how to resolve conflict.
