Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Time for a change.

Just received the shareholder proxy package, does anyone else think it’s time to vote against DW for reelection? Might speak a little louder than a rigged survey would.

Promotions within the last two years seem to be based on who you knew and not merit. It is clear so many do not belong in their current roles. This seems to be prevalent with new managers (aka brown nosers to good ol boys club). Cheaper labor?

I already voted. He is a disaster. I don’t expect a change - Dallas is full of clones and I do not think that there is an outside solution.. But a message needs to be sent.

The devil you know vs the devil you don’t know.

ExxonMobil needs to clean house. But outside hires of any caliber won’t come here. So what do we get? Either a younger generation of the same inbreeding, or the outcasts from other companies.

And let’s be honest. Can you point to any person in the company and say “I want to work for him.” ? Frankly, a little bitter here, but don’t see a lot of promotable people. And I think I am great, but suspect my coworkers probably think the same. “He’s great as a coworker, but don’t want to work for him.” When you reach a certain level of skepticism, it is hard to recover….and you have to be careful not to throw a grenade into your own ranks. …even if they are really ,really condescending, and you wonder how they were ever one of your own.
