Honestly, I was hoping to get the package and leave. I haven’t gotten the package yet, but I’ve gotten more work than ever. I am overloaded and under so much stress that it's become unbearable and next week I'm planning to quit. This seems to be a new way of getting rid of employees, putting them under enormous pressure?

next time you have vacation ask your manager who you should list on your out of office e-mail as a contact for urgent needs. If they do not provide one , use your manager's name
Hoping the HR slugs are taking notes on all of these posts. It's like a backstage pass into the minds of overworked, underpaid & underappreciated employees. Free, at no charge. We're doing all the work by posting layoff, stress and disgruntling information for them to see.
That's their plan. Make the job so unbearable with stress, work overload, unrealistic expectations and work on your vacation/weekends/holidays = recipe for self resignation. That way they don't have to pay severances. And you get a fake smile and a 1.5% raise (if you're lucky). It's only carbonated high fructose corn syrup water, for Pete's sake!
Staffing shouldn’t be an employee problem
Severance packages are expensive. So yeah, if you'll just leave, it will make things better.
same here. I was given 2 zones to cover, I make the same $ as people with 1 zone. I took 2 days off and came back to 225 emails. I have worked every vacation i took in 2021 since acquiring the 2nd zone. I am hoping to find a new job soon.
Just work the same as before. No stress your supervisor can’t handle
