You don't know that. You're scaring people for no good reason. There has been no indication more layoffs are planned any time soon. There is always something that gives it away in advance but currently, there's nothing. In fact, we're actively hiring people. So just stop it, please.

Yes, the bookings for my BU is through the roof. But it doesn’t matter, since we report revenue and that’s limited, since we cannot deliver stuff.
Simple answer. Look at Cisco history.
Actually, cash-flow and opex is a real problem for Cisco right now, despite the cash in the bank. Expect an announcement after the earnings call on Wednesday, with a plan to execute by the end of q4.
Not only are layoffs inevitable but I anticipate it will be a blood bath.
Look at “departures” of execs and VPs in Cisco and AppD. On AppD side alone the GM and CFO “resigned” on the same day. A couple weeks before that CTO and VP Sales Americas “resigned”. Friend who’s a sales rep started looking for the exit doors this week as soon as they announced everyone had to fill out a “individual development plan”. Emphasis was placed on “answer honestly”, “no wrong answers”. Add that management told them that all sales motions moving forward will have to be led through channel partners. Once channel partners have reached knowledge maturity, Cisco will cull the ranks and “Uberize” it’s sales model or you can believe Cisco just loves paying out commissions to other companies.
Just as in relationships, the motto here is ignore what they say and watch what they do.
Stop asking for no layoffs! You're on a site called thelayoff.com FFS. LoL
Chuck said there will be no LRs as long as covid is still a pandemic.
Come August it will have been 2 years since us ER's were told to contemplate an early out or layoff. 2 years ticks their internal "time for layoff" buzzer and off they go checking their lists. While not guaranteed, I bet there will be one this summer. Especially with all the supply chain constraints reducing hardware builds.
I was LR'd three years ago.
No, no way, I will ever be back.
What a slap in the face.
I busted my bu-t for Cisco.
A bunch of San Jose enlightened ones decided I didn't belong and ditched us old tenured caucasian males (to be honest) during three LR cycles.
All those enlightened ones were also moved out. Worthless leaders who can't be trusted.
If you are older caucasian male with old school hard work no BS, get things done philosophy; you will always have a target on your back.
Move on if the above sounds familiar.
We are losing the wrong people through attrition though. Anyone who's capable has left or is leaving. There needs to be an LR to get rid of the deadwood that has been drifting in Cisco for years!
No need for layoffs. Attrition is so severe we actually need to hire! Imagine that! A reverse LR so to speak!
i works manager under SB GSSO 2 hour day please no LR dead woods my customer happy Security ELA Smart license and good TAC support
In fact, we're actively hiring people. So just stop it, please.
LOL. That's just funny. We're typically hiring during Limited Restructuring (LR) events. The biggest cause of our LRs is over hiring and/or acquisitions.
Correct, probably no LAYOFFS. It is called "LR" which allows for slimming down and/or eliminating groups that are redundant. Use the correct term please....LRs are not usually advertised. If Bman keeps energy going through the roof, that big term may come up again. Don't rule it out.
There will be layoffs.
Are you new to Cisco? The corporate strategy is to acquire companies for new talent, and eliminate full-time employees in small batches. This has been going on for 14 years.
Cisco also conducts stealth layoffs where orgs quietly eliminate roles without an announcement.
