I thought I would have to stay here for a long time because I'm not very marketable. I spent months looking for a new job but it finally paid off. I'm a little euphoric because I'll have a 20 percent higher pay. I say this only as advice to those who are failing to find something better - it is still possible to find a better job even for those whose skills have atrophied here.

No it wasn't worth it
That's how I was feeling when I posted the lyrics to Wreckx-N-Effect's "R×mpsh^k3r" on here.
The market is hot. I am getting calls and interviews and I don't check ANY boxes. Prior recruiters from 2 years ago basically said I was unemployable. Talking to a company right now that immediately went up 25% when I aid I wasn't interested due to the range of the comp. Get a job and quit whining.
Congrats! I made the move a couple of year ago, got a pay bump but I didn’t really care at that point, just wanted to work in a growing company again.
The last VP that worked at a competitive company, i ran into 2 years later working at “the door store” in a small town.
VP has about as much pull as Kamala does. Twice nothing is still nothing especially from xerox. But i digress …
Thats why people have left in drones.
I hear the door store is hiring. Lol.
One who does not care about history is truly doomed to repeat it. You can be a pawn snd not even know it or realize it.
By the time you do, its either too late or beyond ones ability to change things.
No one likes change, but it may indeed be the lesser or two evils.
Nothing like your old boss calling you and asking you to come back after you left on decent terms and telling him….”No I don’t think so. “
And then he says “ You don't think so what? “
Then i say. “ I don’t think so …sir. “
Greatest day at xerox. Lemme tell ya.
Sorry to bust YOUR bubble, but I was a VP when I left, and I saw the exit interview results. Not a single one that I saw from 2018 to 2021 left for less than a 20% salary increase. And most were over 25%.
So hate all you want. On average, Xerox is around 20 to 25% low on salary, for comparable positions with other mid to large size companies.
The OP sounds like a Geico insurance commercial. Let me show you how I saved 20% on my car insurance just by applying to a new job.
Hallelujah! Finally somebody calls out these daily fake posters!
Let’s get something straight here: It’s definitely not jealousy. I know this will probably blow that pea brain of yours because of whatever piddly position you had while you worked at xerox, but there are actual employees here who make well above market value and earn every bit of it. You want to talk about being a hater, look in the mirror. These fake posts about people wanting to try to brag on here that they got this new cool job at RadioShack where they get 3 more marbles an hour are ridiculous. They are just that….fake. If they were so happy and excited about their new job, they would just leave Xerox in the rearview mirror and never even come on this website. 9 out of 10 are just competitors or poor hurt ex employees. Everybody sees through it so stop posting.
Congrats OP. Ignore the obviously jealous and/or brain damaged post below. Some people just can't handle seeing others do well.
For everyone else - just more proof that Xerox is 20 to 30% lower than everyone else on pay. Look at your current paycheck. Add 20% to it. Make the decision to get out. Because there are rumors that something is coming that may make the decision for you.
