Thread regarding Synamedia layoffs

...all this for less money

Synamedia's target salary increases this year were 1.5% for US/UK, 2% for IL and 5% for IN. In a normal year these targets would be considered offensively low but with inflation rates being what they are this year it means you're making less money this year than you did last. Think about that. You're losing money to work in this toxic environment.

Jobs are plentiful. You can easily get a salary increase and won't have to put up with all this toxic behavior...so why are you still there?

Life is better on the other side. Take the time to update your CV and get your name out there. Stop thinking about it and just do it. You owe nothing to Synamedia. You'll be happy you did.

Synamedia is in a small minority of failing tech companies laying off key contributors to the products they are trying to sell. Companies that are succeeding are struggling to find them in order to meet there demand for their products.

Every cough Loser cough business is suffering severe cost inflation. Get real - Synamedia's business should not even be impacted by rising commodities price, or shortage of supply chain, or Covid lockdowns. What is YOUR excuse?

@xma+1g8jndP2 - It's nice to see a response from Synamedia's HR department. You can tell it's Synamedia HR because of the mix of arrogance and ignorance. The original post had nothing to do with "businesses suffering cost inflation" - it was about employees suffering from cost inflation. (another sign the response was from HR - they care nothing about employees)

The original post stated two things.
1 - Synamedia's cost-of-living increases were nowhere near large enough to help offset the cost of living increases seen by it's employees. A 1.5 to 2% increase is low under normal economic conditions. In the current economic environment the increases showed Synamedia thinks it's employees are captive and they don't have to pay them a competitive wage.
2 - The second point of the post was that employees don't need to accept low wages and a toxic work environment. There are a lot better employers and employment situations available in most regions. The US, UK, IL and IN are each experiencing a surge in job openings. Synamedia employees can find much better working conditions elsewhere.

Get real - every business is suffering severe cost inflation, unfortunately not all can simply raise wages in line
