Depends on your performance ranking and compensation ratio. Average merit increases for 2022 was 6%. Promotions however were higher.

Nice attempt at sarcasm, but you still get an ‘F’. Feel free to try again though.

You working people are stressing the system. Quit demanding higher pay.

I’m retired and still entertained by this site. Didn’t know that was an issue.

@7aoh, are you saying no one posts here if they are successful or if they are retired? How did you come up with that insight? I’m sure you didn’t mean just successful since that would mean you are insulting everyone who posts including yourself. So then, what is it about being retired and posting that bothers you? Is it that boomer vs millennial thing again? Very odd post for sure.

@3sla Sure you did, because coming on here is what successful retired people do. Sure you did.

Promotion at Oxy? That's like being the lead bigot on the Columbine hit list. I'm guessing you'll be crying and complaining the same as they were the day after, too.

Russia. Amazing how they managed to cause a 30% increase in the price of crude oil……in 2021.

Raises are all about your rating in prior years as well as including the current year plus where you are in your current salary grade range. They stopped giving out salary grade ranges ~4yrs ago.

If I knew in January that Russia was going war and destabilize the world's oil supply, I would have mortgaged the house and bought all kinds of oil stock. Unfortunately I am not that gifted and already had a ton of Oxy stock @$65.... Might just break even one of these days.

6-10% seems high...Unless promoted or rocked some managers world. Most likely 3-5% is in line with previous adjustments. Always seemed to balance my % increase with long term incentives(stock) and possibly tweak the cash bonus.

Well you may not know it, but it’s not a good idea to put every penny into one company’s stock. But I did buy a lot and as you suggest, did make a mil (or close to it). With that plus what I already had, I was able to retire earlier than planned this year. I was able to do that still post on this site. Imagine that!

I love the guy using hindsight to insult others for not buying when the company was close to folding. Why didnt he put every penny in the stock and retire a millionaire if he is so smart, instead of being on a layoff board?

Stockholders have been rewarded generously with an 85% return this year and even more since the stock hit bottom. Shame you, simpleton stockholder, if you didn’t load up on shares when it in the teens and 20s.
