Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

There are no winners here

People who have no idea what we do have decided that some of us are unnecessary and laid them off. Now the rest of us, who were already overworked as it is, have had to pick up their work as well. This is going to lead to more people getting burnt out and leaving, putting even more work on those who stay. I know being laid off sucks, but things are not much better for those of us who stayed either.

Customer service
Sales
Gross profit
Expenses
Those were supposed to be the four priorities in that order of a certain past CEO. So cutting labor or jobs should be the last focus point...seems to me the way things are done now is exactly the opposite. Get back to the priorities and take care of the customers. It isn't seeing an Indy car with a Hy-Vee logo on it.

Sales …. I haven’t heard anyone talk about going after sales in weeks. The only thing I hear and been talked to about is Labor and hours and how they will be CUT.

Customer Service is not the top priority at this time.

Used to be 5%. Then stores couldn't hit that goal and so Randy asked stores for 7%. Can’t hit that goal so let ask for the 10%. Seems to make sense to me. Next quarter goal will be 15% increase. Store director job isn’t to set the goals. That’s Randy’s job. Director job is to hit the goal set out by Randy. Don’t waste any energy on how it’s not fair to set such a high goal. Focus all of your energy on getting 15% and you will make it.
