Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Pros of splitting?

I would like splitting to bring more positive than negative things, but I am not at all optimistic. Would anyone care to discuss the positive aspects of splitting?

GE in its current state is unmanageable by even the best of the best leaders. Aviation is focusing on recovery from covid and needs to reinvest in itself. EnergyCo is under disruption and needs to run an entirely different playbook and time horizon. Healthcare is not related in any way to the other two. Each needs to invest in themselves to focus, not trying to prop up a pretty dead GE stock.

Sure I'll comment, asset buyers after the split will be industry focused and will pay more for an asset that "bolts on" to their portfolio. GE gets more $ by splitting things up, Anything in it for employees, nope. But no biggee
