Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Raises

Managers got an email last evening that the year end compensation process is beginning!

Our division received a whopping 2% across the board. Of course, you can always steal a percent or two to give to your favorites so if you get zero your manager probably likes your coworker better.

AIG really knows how to motivate employees. Who wouldn't want to be a top performer for an extra 2%? I mean that's like a whole tank of gas once a month, wow! (Sarcasm)

Being sold to Gallagher Basset, and they are “honoring” our salary. So we are going to get switched from AIG hourly base pay to salary under GB. AND now going to be considered a salaried ee. So expected to work what ever hours to get tasks completed. Yet, no increase in salary but increase in my work day. Awesome.
Oh and taking on new accounts as people quit.
With the lack of raises, we are essentially making less money than 2-4 years ago thanks to inflation.
GB is getting a steal! Thanks AIG!

2% really at such inflationary times. This is scary. I would never understand how can people put up with so much non-sense BS at this company.
I am not at AIG anymore. I am relieved that I dont have to deal with all this dogshit anymore.

What a joke. 2%? As an UW, they better be happy I even try to renew business. I am not going through hoops to try to obtain new business anymore while my company pays me scraps. If you want me to work hard then pay me well to bring you more money.

Let's say you make $50k.

$50,000 X .02 = $1000 a year divide that by 26 pay periods = $38 every two weeks, then let's deduct taxes $38 X 70% = $27 a pay check raise or $52 a month.

My rent just went up $250 a month and gas is at least double what it was last year. Pathetic leadership, pathetic company.

Y’all are clowns for staying. I left in 2020 for a 10% raise and was promoted this year with a 13% raise.
