I want to open up and express my work experience with GE. I believe that I'm a fair and balanced thinker who looks at both sides of things. I think GE (and any other companys') employees can understand that the economy goes through cycles and there may be a legitimate need to reduce a workforce--that's just reality. However, GE has been getting rid of some of the best employees to be found anywhere in the world. Those same employees have worked like crazy in an attempt to turn things around for GE. I know this because I worked with them every day, and they truly believed if they work long enough, and hard enough, this company will excel.
Let's not be blind or stupid. The perks that are paid out to "you know who" are nothing more than blood money for increasing (big shareholder) profit by cutting heads.
The real insult is being in a GE meeting listening to these same "leaders" talk about how sad they are about the attrition because "we are like family".
Be realistic about your place in this organization. Put your family first the next time around, and all else will fall inline

You are nothing but a tool to any company. As soon as you understand this the better. They will use the tool until it is worn out or broken or until a better tool comes along. Stress can negatively impact your health or even ki-l you. So managing stress is key.
