Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

It’s their fault and we are the ones suffering.

The rhetoric about the constant need to cut costs and reduce the workforce sickens me at this point. The leadership creates lousy business results with their faulty decisions and the end result is the need to cut costs and reduce the number of employees. What do they get? A fewer workforce of unsatisfied employees and scared employees that cannot produce good results. Maybe the leadership people are the ones that need to be replaced.

@ipn+1g0S61C2 PREACH. 45 years of cronyism - managers got where they got by popularity contest. People who should have been fired or laid off were either moved along or worse were protected because they were all buddies. And what you get is everyone who thinks the same and you get incompetence at every level. These old timers complaining about the food old days are fooling themselves. (not saying OP is an old timer) it’s never how a business should have been run.

You are blaming current management for a situation created by prior management. XRX has never selected leaders or promoted based on ability. It has always been "who you know, who likes you". This is the result. Current management is doing exactly what they were hired to do. Are you doing exactly what you were hired to do? Cost needs to align with revenue and as the company shrinks, which it has been doing for years, it takes less to administer the business. Senior management answers to shareholders, not employees. Treating employees well is absolutely the way to success, however I think XRX is past that point. Just get a new job. They are everywhere. Your situation is your own fault, not senior managements.
