Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Wilson/Brandt/Shapiro likely have the SAME benefits

For those complaining about benefits, the thing people don’t understand is that these guys likely have the SAME COVERAGE as front line employees, when it comes to health/dental/vision/hsa

With a big company, the same benefits have to be offered to all employees

Oh yeah they get less salary then other employees, but they get lot of stock options and what they do when company makes lot of profit, they buyback their own stock.. I am watching the stock since it was 15 Usd.. all executive have got millions in stock options and they used all the profits to buy back instead of sharing with employees. Today the stock is 143.. Now I feel the leadership is ready to retire and hence the last nail in coffin.. sold the northbrook campus to convert a huge liability into asset by increasing the cash on balance sheet. Soon they will encash their shares and start retiring and let the employees suffer with their pension and other obligations. Mark my words- 3-5 years..

To be fair, Glenn deserves that pay and benefits outlined in that letter.

He worked hard to get there

Reading that offer letter, it doesn’t look like executives have the same level of benefits as regular employees AT ALL!

They have the option to decline it and purchase their own insurance which would be tons better than we have. Even if they have the same shifty insurance, they make way more than enough to be able to afford all the out of pocket costs.

$8000, $6,000, whatever the deductible is on top of what you pay for your plan each pay is a lot more money to someone who makes $35,000 over someone who makes even $100,000!

This is one of the d-mbest posts I've ever seen on this site, and that's saying something. They make exponentially more money than the average Allstate employee. Even if they had to spend the same amount or more money for their own healthcare needs, it would still be a tiny percentage of their huge salaries and net worth. The average American spends around $12K per year in healthcare costs, which is a big expense for someone only making $30K, $50K or even $75K a year, which is probably the majority of Allstate employees (in the US at least).

Assuming I stay in network only, my out of pocket is $8000. That’s 10% of my gross pay but only 0.04% of TW’s.

It's no comparison because all the aforementioned make millions with stock bonuses
