Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

I did the same thing after 20 years, and am in my 40s! Best decision I ever made.

Some change like i did but its hard when you have been with the company a long time and you hope and want it to go back to the way it used to be buts its never going to go back to the way it was.
Employees hold out hope after some time they realize there is no hope and move on.
In the Midwest Hy-Vee used to be the Grocer to be like. They were seen as top dog in the Midwest and other smaller and larger chains wanted to be like Hy-Vee. Now Hy-Vee has become a regular run of the mill chain that's OVERPRICED in all areas except for the weekly specials or specials to get rid of product that they are long on. I can shop Dillons in my area and get all the name brand product i want for a lower cost at Dillons by quite a bit. I will give credit to Hy-Vee and there Meat dept which is still pretty good but you pay for it. Everything else is basically the same items and product but it just cost more at Hy-vee unless its on sale.

Good for you. Any HV employees who work in the Des Moines area who post on here complaining about their jobs need to get take their heads out of their a-s and look. Whole Foods who is owned by Amazon now starts all employees at $15 and most the time they will go higher then that. Better work environment, more PTO, better benefits, guaranteed hours and sometimes they will grant overtime.
If people just continue to bi--h and moan on an anonymous BBS about HV without doing anything then nothing will change.
